What You Need to Know When Choosing a Free Autoresponder
59Overview
One of the big trends today in the online world is the idea of using attraction marketing to build your internet business. This form of marketing can be extremely effective but in order to do it successfully you should have the proper tools in place. One of the tools essential to building your business is a good email autoresponder. This is used to send emails at designated times to your prospects and is a wonderful way to build rapport with your list thereby making them more likely to take you up on your product or service. It should be a fairly easy decision to make as to whether you will use one or not, the issue can come in when you are deciding between a free or paid service. While I personally prefer a paid service such as Aweber, I can see why the idea of spending money every month can be a little daunting. So, my goal here is to give you some tips on finding a good free service and where you can look for one. I hope this is helpful!

There are a couple of things to think about when looking into getting a free autoresponder. One, is that they are not reliable as some of the paid services when it comes to deliverability. Know that some of your emails may not make it to there intended parties. Secondly, there will most likely be advertisements placed on each of your emails. This isn't necessarily an issue however, some of those advertisements may be in direct competition with your own. So it is something to consider. Ok, now that we have that out of the way, here are three types of free services for you to look into: the responder that comes with your web hosting, free trials with paid services, and free web based services.
1) The first type of service to look into is an autoresponder that may come with your existing hosting server. If your hosting provides one than this would be a great one to use since there would be no advertisements added to your emails. Also it would be controlled from your hosting control panel which would be convenient and save you time with everything in one place.
2) The second type of service would be to use a free trial of a paid service. This can give you a full working service for free while you build your business and allow you to see if the service is right for you. Some of these will place ads and some wont but almost all of them will limit the number of subscribers you can have, so if you go over the specified number during the trial you will have to upgrade. However, these have a good deliver rate so you can be more secure in knowing your subscribers get their emails. A couple of suggestions would be to try Aweber, GetResponse, or IContact. These are all good choices and each one of them will give you what you are looking for but read through each site's benefits to see which one fits you best.
3) Finally you should check into strictly free web based autoresponders. If you were to do a search on Google I'm sure you will find a ton of different ones to choose from. While number one and two are going to be more reliable, if money is an issue than by all means go with one of these. A couple that I know of that others are using with some success are FreeAutoBot, SendFree, FreeFollowUp. These seem to work fairly well, but feel free to investigate others.
Ultimately it will come down to what works for you, your business, and your budget. You never want to overextend yourself financially, just remember you get what you pay for or in this case, what you don't. I wish you good luck in all that you do and I hope you find great success!
